Friday morning, Sept.14, 2012 The Tiles for America Memorial was removed from Mulry Square by members of the Tiles for America Preservation Project, local residents, and other concerned individuals in accordance with the deadline set by the MTA.
Under the direction of Columbia University's Ceramics department faculty, the tiles will be stabilized, cataloged, photographed, and stored in a secure climate-controlled facility with plans to exhibit themsteps from the original memorial.
